Hidden Fees

Unethical bail bond agencies often hide different fees or potential premiums when transacting bail. They also sometimes advertise bait-and-switch discounts to get your business, then approach you later for additional premium or hidden fees.

Bail Bond Professionals has No Additional Fees

Other agencies often charge these fees when Bail Bond Professionals never does!

  • Annual Premiums: If your case remains active for more than a year, you're going to be charged a fee.
  • Resumption of Liability: If you accidentally miss your court date and are needed to reappear, some companies charge for the Resumption of Liability letter.
  • Rewrite Fees: If your first bail is exonerated and you require a second application, then many agents charge extra.
  • Court Appearance Fees: Many agents charge to support you in court.

Unlike other bail bond agents, Bail Bond Professionals do not have any hidden fees, extra payments, or unfair terms with financial consequences.

The agency is completely transparent about any fees and payments you'll have to make. As a rule, we do not charge for unintentional mistakes and regularly appear in court for free.

At Bail Bond Professionals, you'll only pay a premium as per the signed agreement forms, nothing more. These are fees mandated by the California Department of Insurances.

If you are unsure or confused regarding the nature of a fee or any other parts of the agreement, we're happy to sit down and clarify any part of the bail contract. We’ll explain every legal term so that you're not caught unawares at a later date!

We are a Highly Respected Bail Agency, Not just Licensed.

Having a bail license to write bail doesn't automatically mean someone is qualified or experienced, it only means they’re legally able to submit a bond to the jail. An agents reputation, experiece and trust are earned over time, so be sure to ask lots of questions and feel comfortable with the agent before moving forward.

You will find our A++ qualifications and licenseing on the California Department of Insurance's website and our Google, Yelp and Yahoo public reviews are acceptional!

What Happens after an Arrest?

Once the arrest has been made, the defendant will be taken to the local jail. It is at the local city or county jail where the booking process begins.

During the booking process the following procedure takes place:

  • Identity verification
  • Photographs or mug shots
  • Fingerprinting
  • Property inventory
  • Interrogation
  • Formal Charges
  • Bail Determination

The booking process, (aka receiving process) can take anywhere between 2 to 5 hours depending upon where they are held. Once the booking process is complete, we’re able to post the bond, and the defendant begins the release process. After bond has been posted and the release process begins, it take anywhere between 3 to 8 hours at the Orange County Jail, depending on the activity, and sometimes much longer.

If the defendant is held at one of the city jails, such as Anaheim Jail, Newport Beach Jail, Costa Mesa Jail, or Huntington Beach Jail, they’ll be released quickly after the bond has been  posted.

While we are involved at the begining of the arrest process, our primary concern is making sure all court appearances are made. The defendant must be present at every scheduled court hearing so as to uphold their obligation to the court. If not, the bond will be revoked by the court and a warrant will be issued for their arrest.

Once the bond is revoked, more than likely an arrest warrant with the defendant.

Orange County Bail Schedule?

There is a set amount of bail for every criminal charge in Orange County. A “Uniform Bail Schedule” is created each year which is used by police and Sheriffs use to set bail for those arrested.  Contact us ASAP to help you figure out if bail has set for your loved one.

Cash Bonds

Posting cash bail is generally reserved for smaller bail amounts such as $1,000 or less, however, it is always an option to bypass purchasing a bail bond and deposit the full cash amount yourself directly to the jail. It requires a cashiers check made out to the “Orange County Sheriff’s Dept.” and will only be accepted during normal banking hours. Understand though that the cash you give to the jail may be held until the case is fully resolved, which could be many months or even years. Posting a bail bond often times is quicker, safer, and often times a better finance option.

 Charge Classifications

More serious charges like assault cans be classified either as misdemeanors or felonies. Each of these classifications has a series of specific classes (A, B, C, or D). Depending on the severity of the crime, it gets classified as a misdemeanor or felony, which is then given a classification.

Some of the most common charges in the profession include:

  • Assault
  • Battery
  • Theft
  • Conversion
  • Domestic Violence
  • Driving Under The Influence
  • Possession of Stolen Property
  • Possession of Concealed Weapons
  • Possession of Drugs or Other Paraphernalia
  • Manslaughter
  • Sexual Offenses
  • Armed Robbery
  • Terrorist Activity

This is not an exhaustive list of charges. All of the charges mentioned are further divided into levels of severity. That level of severity determines whether the defendant will be charged with a misdemeanor or felony.

If you're curious about the kind of charges and bail bond amount that these different charges hold, then give us a call!

Most of these crimes have a predetermined amount of bail required which is set in the orange county bail schedule.

Serious Charges

If the defendant is charged with multiple offenses, there will arraignment hearing in front of the judge.

During the arraignment, a judge has the right to revoke the bond despite the 8th Amendment of the Constitution if circumstances warrant the defendants surrender. However, this is only for extenuating circumstances.

If the judge believes that the defendant is a flight risk or a danger to society or themselves then bail can be revoked.

What to do If There's an Arrest Warrant Out for Me?

If you find out there is arrest warrant for you and before the police are able to arrest you, call us immediately, we may be able keep you out of jail!

While the urge may be to call a loved one or a friend, they won't be able to help much at this point, but we will! We can investigate the details of the arrest warrant and help you navigate the system to keep you out of custody if at all possible.

We’re always available to meet you in-person or we can arrange everything by phone and email.

Depending on the situation, we may be able to post your bond directly at one of the Orange County Courts without you ever having to go into custody.

If not, we will be able to minize the time you spend in custody. Call us to explain how.

Either way, by turning yourself in and being proactive, you're showing the court you’re intention of getting the situation resolved and not fleeing, which the courts appreciate and will help your case!

Jason is hands-down not your average bail bondsmen.

His dedication and commitment to finding a strong solution cannot be overstated. After getting off the phone with a very vulnerable and scared client, I am often dialing Jason to set up a strategy to get the best scenario possible. He is knowledgeable and caring -- two things a lawyer and there client need in a bail company...especially in a very critical time. You will be taken care of.

Bart Kaspero, Esq.

Bail Bond Professionals, honest and trustworthy.

“I’ve worked with Jason and his team on countless cases through the years and I trust no one else to handle my clients bail bond needs. Jason and his team are experienced, knowledgeable, and responsive to time and sensitive situations. Their integrity and dedication to the client sets these folks apart.”

Law Offices of Justin E Sterling

He is a true professional that I’ve always been able to trust.

I recently had a serious white collar case in Orange County and bail was set extremely high. My client was out of the country and needed to return to the United States to get his day in court. It was Jason’s deep knowledge of bail and creative thinking that allowed my client to return to the U.S. with much lower bail and without going into custody. I’ve worked with other bail bond companies over the last 25 years but Jason operates at an entirely different level than any other bondsman I’ve known. He is a true professional that I’ve always been able to trust. He has my highest recommendation.
